The 2026 Devolved Elections and the future of British politics
Thursday 14 May 2026 6pm (Online)
The 2026 devolved elections in Scotland and Wales look set to be among the most important yet. In Scotland, the SNP looks to consolidate its place in government, with a pro-independence majority. In Wales, the Party of Wales faces a fight with Reform, while Labour fade away. Meanwhile, across England, both Labour and Conservatives are predicted to face heavy defeats.
What does this all mean for Scotland, Wales and the UK? In this event, we speak with John Oxley, a political commentator and strategist and a current Birkbeck postgraduate student. John is a regular contributor to a range of national outlets, including The Spectator and UnHerd, as well as radio, TV, and podcasts. He also publishes his own Substack, Joxley Writes.
