Lisa Eva Nandy is Shadow Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities since 2021. She has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Wigan since 2010. Most importantly, she did her MSc here at Birkbeck in the Politics Department and is one of Birkbeck’s most distinguished alumni, and was kind enough to speak to us as part of our 50th Anniversary ‘Politics Week’.

Lisa was Shadow Minister for Children from 2012 to 2013, and Shadow Minister for Charities and Civil Society from 2012 to 2015, with responsibility for Labour Policy on the Third Sector. She served as Shadow Energy Secretary from 2015. She was Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in April 2020-November 2021.
